Saagu (With cabbage and peas)

This Saagu is to be made from cabbage and peas and goes well with Chapati.


  • Cabbage – 2 cups
  • Peas – 1 cup
  • Coconut – 1 cup
  • Coriander leaves – 1/2 bunch
  • Cinnamon sticks – 1 small
  • Garlic – 2-3
  • green chillies – 3
  • onion – 1
  • Roasted channa – 2Tsp
  • Oil
  • Mustard seeds
  • Curry leaves


Chop Cabbage finely. Cook it with peas and salt.

Take coconut, coriander leaves, cinnamon sticks, garlic, green chillies, chopped onion and roasted channa in a mixer. Grind to a smooth paste.

Add the ground ingredients to the cooked veggies and bring to boil.

Heat up oil in a tadka pan and add mustard seeds. Once the seeds sputter, add curry leaves and pour the tadka to the curry.

Take it in a bowl and enjoy it to dip with Chapati.
