Onion Uttappa

If you are like me who is not a big fan of Urad dose, Onion Uttappa adds flavour to regular dose.

Ingredients

  • Urad dose batter
  • Onions – 2 medium sized
  • Coriander leaves – 5 Tsp
  • Green chillies – 3

Method

Finely chop onions, coriander leaves and green chillies and keep aside

There are two ways to make Onion Uttappa

  1. Mix the Urad dose batter and chopped ingredients. Heat up dose pan and grease a little oil. On medium flame, pour the prepared batter and dab with the back of the spoon. Uttappa is made thick, so dont press too hard to make thin dose. Cover the lid and let the dose cook for a while. Add a tsp of ghee and flip the dose to roast on the other side.
  2. Heat up dose pan and grease a little oil. On medium flame, sprinkle chopped ingredients. Now pour the dose batter and dab with the back of the spoon. Uttappa is made thick, so dont press too hard to make thin dose. Cover the lid and let the dose cook for a while. Add a tsp of ghee and flip the dose to roast on the other side.
