Paneer Makhmali

Paneer Makhmali is a green curry and is for those who love mint and are bored with the regular palak paneer.

Ingredients

  • Paneer – 350gms
  • Ground paste
    • Coriander leaves – 1 small bunch
    • Mint leaves – 1 regular bunch
    • Green chillies – 3
    • Cashews – 10
    • ginger – a small piece
    • lemon juiuce – 2 Tbsp
    • Salt
  • Yogurt – 1 cup
  • Onions – 2-3
  • Milk – 1/4 cup
  • Garam masala – 2 Tsp
  • Red chillies – 2-3
  • Cream – 4Tsp
  • Oil

Method

Grind the ingredients mentioned for the paste. Whisk the yogurt well and add the ground paste. Mix well. Cut the paneer to cubes and pierce randomly with a fork. Marinate the paneer with the yogurt mixture. Keep aside for 30 minutes.

Slice the onions. In a frying pan, heat up a little oil or butter. Fry the sliced onions until translucent. Now add the marinated paneer and mix well. Add milk and bring to boil.

Sprinkle garam masala, red chillies and fry. You can also fry red chillies in a tadka pan with little oil and add for extra flavour.

Add fresh cream to it and mix well.

Enjoy Paneer Makhmali with Chapati, phulka or roti of your choice.
